Where Montana Keeps Her Promises

Accommodations

Forrester’s is a first-class retreat because we’ve made what’s inside our front door just as distinctive as what is outside of it.

Sleeping in our comfortable cabins will have you waking up refreshed and ready to greet the crisp Montana mornings. Your cabin is your own with a personal bathroom and all the comforts of home including a private phone and wireless Internet, just in case you want to check in on things beyond the banks of the Bighorn.

After taking on the trout or walking the field, you’ll return to our handcrafted log lodge, featuring a river-stone fireplace, Orvis Pro Shop, cigar loft and a gourmet dining room to indulge in our acclaimed cuisine. Inside this great gathering space you’ll find Montana luxury accentuated – a place to play cards after dinner and recount the excitement of the day. A full conference center is also available – perfect for keeping up with your business or a whole company retreat.

Cuisine

You would be hard pressed to find a better menu in all of Montana.  Famous for blueberry pancakes, honey-cured, thick-cut bacon and of course the specialty blends of organic coffee, the breakfast spread is fit for royalty. Later on, you’ll be served lunch alongside the river in an outdoor setting that will surely be a feast for the eyes.

At dinner, we pay special attention to the balance between comfort and luxury. We go to great lengths to purchase fresh, high-quality cuts of meat and fish. Produce is nothing but exceptional and herbs are grown in our own garden. Our dishes revolve around the seasons and we’ll even prepare your catch for you.

About the Chef:

Frank Kerstetter comes to Forrester’s from Denver, Colorado, and has been with us for five seasons. He excels in the culinary arts, feels exceptionally fortunate to love what he does for a living, and has brought a level of excellence to our dining experience that continues to set Forrester’s above and apart from the rest.

Frank’s cooking style is Classical French with regional American and Mediterranean influences and he has a background shaped by working in world-class resorts and restaurants.

Frank is a proud graduate of the Culinary Institute of American. He was Chef de Cuisine at Papillion Café in Cherry Creek, Colorado− an establishment consistently rated 96 by Zaggats. During this time, Papillion was chosen by Gourmet Magazine as one of the 10 Best Restaurants of the West. Frank has also worked as Pastry/Sous Chef at Mirabelle in Beaver Creek. His dishes have been featured in Bon Appetite Magazine.

Frank is passionate and dedicated– as can be seen (and tasted) in his work. His considerable experience in everything from wine pairings, pastries and breads, to charcuterie and artistic meat and fish preparation provide him with a vast canvas upon which he creates daily.

It’s no wonder our guests come for the fishing– but come back for the food!
